GLASS CERAMIC BY ILVA GLASS

ILVA Glass has been producing for over 20 years a glass ceramic cooktops with a particular composition specially designed for cooking applications in the household appliance sector. The composition patent of ELECTA is the basis of a long experience at the service of the largest international players in the sector.
ELECTA complies with all the strictest European and world regulations (in particular REACH and ROHS), guaranteeing the total absence of arsenic and dangerous metals for the environment.
The production of ELECTA glass ceramic is entrusted to Novatech Ltd, the ILVA Glass Group company that deals with raw materials. The production process starts with a fusion of metal oxides obtaining the Green Glass, which subsequently undergoes a ceramization process, so that the glass matrix acquires the final characteristics of the product.
The glass ceramic plates obtained can be from 3 to 6 mm thick.
The ELECTA glass ceramic supply chain starts from the preparation of the raw material, the sheets. Than glass processing are applied on these plates arriving at the finished product according to the customer’s specifications. These processes include:
- the automatic cut;
- the processing of edges using CNC grinding machines;
- the bevels of the edges;
- the creation of slots and internal holes by working with water jet technology;
- the silk-screen printing for customizing the cooktop with one or more colors;
- the processes of engraving on the surface of the top for aesthetic or functional purposes.
