Other Components in Borosilicate Glass
Thanks to its properties, the borosilicate glass can also be used to make other components inside the ovens that require particular resistance to temperatures.
Examples of such applications are:
- protective covers, which protect the bulb of oven lamp from extreme heat;
- protective covers for internal vision cameras in the oven, which allow you to supervise the cooking of food without having to open the oven door, thus ensuring better results and significant energy savings,
- accessories for microwave ovens (rotating dishes).
Typically small in size, these are components whose edges are processed by CNC machine and, if necessary, it is possible to apply opacification processes to the glass by sandblasting: this allows for example to hide the electrical components of the lamp to be protected and to also have a illuminating effect characterized by diffused light.
The glass are heat treated to increase the already high thermal performance of the ELECTA borosilicate base material.
